Statement:

My work centers around humans in relation to their environment. By collaging observational drawings with found objects and images, my practice embodies my connection to different surroundings.  My art finds energy in the tension between poles: facades and interiors, history and myth, the organic and the human made.

My work’s core ingredients are woodcut, watercolor, collage, and drawing. In using humble, analog materials, I channel a folk tradition to address our modern world. The presence of the hand in my artwork is crucial and inalienable. By using a wide range of source material and techniques, I hope my work is accessible to a wide audience, if not singularly legible. Artmaking offers a boundless space to understand my own place within the universal and timeless, with room for humor and play.
