My work focuses on humans relating to their environment. By collaging my observational drawings with found objects and images, my practice embodies a personal connection to different surroundings.  My art finds energy in the tension between poles: facades and interiors, history and myth, the organic and the human made.

My work’s core ingredients are woodcut, watercolor, collage, and drawing. In using humble, analog materials, I channel a folk tradition to address our modern world. My hand’s  presence in the artwork is crucial and inalienable. Within a piece, the balance of different elements with negative space creates an implied narrative while defying a singular prescribed meaning. By using a wide range of source material and techniques, I keep my work accessible to a wide audience. Artmaking offers a boundless space to understand my own place within the universal and timeless. As importantly my practice makes space for heavy themes with humor and play.
